a new movie musical
a bryce irvin and lina zikas production
WHO WE ARE
We are a group of Georgia Tech students that are making a feature-length movie musical set in Atlanta, Georgia. Directed by Jackson Vance (Computational Media, '19), DaViD is written by Bryce Irvin (Music Technology, '20) and Davis Williams (Computer Science '21) with additional music and lyrics by executive producer, Lina Zikas (Materials Science and Engineering, '19).
WHAT WE'RE DOING
After this film is made, our plan is to submit it to film festivals for a chance to qualify for awards and find distributors for a theatrical release. Why a theatrical release? Because then, we have a chance of qualifying for a dormant category of the Oscars. Here's our current project timeline:
Development: Complete!
Pre-Production: April - August 2019
Principal Photography: September 2019 - January 2020
Post Production: February - May 2020
Distribution: May-September 2020
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are a couple ways you can be involved with this project:
-
Make your own musical film! We want to see the resurgence of the movie musical genre, and can only do so much with our one film. Assemble your team (school-affiliated or not), get writing, and let us know how you're doing so we can help in any way we can.
-
Support us financially! We are all very dedicated to making DaViD happen, and to do that we need all the help we can get to reach our minimum budget. Can only spare $1? We appreciate you and promise you it'll be the best investment you've ever made! Check out our Kickstarter to donate and see the cool perks you can receive for backing our project!
-
Spread the word! If you can't donate, check out our social media and keep up with our progress! Stay tuned for behind the scenes, casting announcements, and help the Kickstarter reach their milestones to watch the production team do the most™ for the sake of art.
